RM Import was established in 1998 and has been supplying fresh dates and dried and dried fruit to supermarket chains in Denmark and Northern Europe ever since. We are headquartered in Hammel, where we also have our warehouse and production for date snacks.
The journey began
In 1998, our journey began with the sale of fresh Mazafati dates. Building on the family's many years of experience in the date business, the foundation was laid to introduce Mazafati dates to the Scandinavian market - which at the time was primarily dominated by dried dates. It quickly became a success, and today we supply fresh Mazafati dates throughout Northern Europe.
The first steps towards flavored dates
In 2006, we experimented with coatings to prevent our dates from sticking together. Along the way, we came up with the idea of adding flavor and started coating them with liquorice, cocoa and coconut, among others. This was the start of our journey towards flavored dates.
The evolution of date snacks
In 2015, we took an important step and became the first to develop flavored dates. Our very first products were dates with licorice and cocoa powder. We invested in production facilities adapted for making date snacks at our factory in Hammel, Denmark - and have since expanded several times.
Date balls were introduced
In 2018, we introduced date balls to the market - a modern way to enjoy dates. By combining dates with different flavors, we created a snack that still retains the good nutritional value of dates and appeals to more people, even those who don't normally choose dates.
We have the whole process in our own hands
Today, we handle the entire process of our products - from harvesting, quality selection and pitting to production and packaging. Our dedicated team ensures the delivery of tasty, high-quality dates and date snacks to the Northern European market.

Since the beginning, we have produced all our date snacks ourselves in Hammel, Denmark. We have chosen this to ensure the highest quality and food safety. Our production in Denmark is BRC certified, which ensures the highest food safety and quality.

We grow and harvest our Mazafati dates on our own Global G.A.P certified plantations – with a focus on quality, safety and responsibility.
Production in Hammel
With our own production in Hammel, we manufacture our Candy Dates, Date Bites and Choco Dates.
The factory is BRC certified and equipped with specially developed production lines tailored for date snacks. Here we combine quality, innovation and food safety, ensuring every snack meets our high standards.
We take care of the entire process from palm to bag
Harvesting
We harvest all Mazafati dates on our own plantations – certified with GLOBALG.A.P. for responsible cultivation and traceability.
Sorting
After harvesting, the dates are carefully sorted by hand – controlled under SMETA, which ensures ethical working conditions and social responsibility.
Petrification
For our snacks, we pit the dates ourselves for full control and quality – documented through the SEDEX food safety standard.
Gasket
The dates are packed at our own packing facility – in accordance with SEDEX, which ensures accountability and traceability.
Production
In Denmark, we produce finished date snacks at our factory in Hammel – BRC AA certified for the highest food safety and quality.
